Sai Grandhi & Geetha Grandhi

SKED was started by a couple of humble Lord Shiva devotees in Brisbane, Sai Grandhi & Geetha Grandhi.  Sai and Geetha are both spiritually motivated individuals and passionate about following Sanatana Dharma principles and its religious beliefs and traditions.  They therefore started regularly performing Rudra Abhishekam and Shiva pooja at their own home for many years.  Along with their two young kids, they have made pilgrimages to various holy places in the Indian subcontinent, such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Amarnath, Vaishno Devi, Kasi, Gaya, Eight Dwadasha Jyotirlingams, Mukti Nath and other Shiva temples in Assam & Odissa, Ganga Sagar and also the Pasupathi Nath temple in Nepal.

After experiencing the divine power and blissful spirit of Lord Shiva, they became inspired and determined to fulfil their desire of building a Hindu temple in their lifetime here in Brisbane, dedicated to Lord Shiva.  Sai and Geetha therefore formed a non-profit association on 11th May, 2019, inaugurated as “Sri Kamakshi Ekambareswara Dhaam” (SKED) with the support of a few devoted committee members.  SKED is incorporated under the Association Incorporation Act 1981 for accomplishing and fulfilling a goal of building a Hindu temple in Brisbane.  Since May 2019, SKED has been hosting regular devotional events at the Runcorn Heights State School Hall to perform Rudra Abhishekam, and special poojas like the Kumkum archana, Homams, Bhajans, along with the serving of Mahaprasadam on the first Saturday of every month.  These regular events are helping everyone to receive the divine blessings of Lord Shiva, and helping SKED in raising funds for the future Shiva temple project.

To date, SKED has hosted and organized around 16 events and has gained a lot of support in the community from many other devotees, and the community’s response has been truly inspiring in reaching the goal of building a temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva.
